VIGNETTE COVER ART

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Vignette Cover Art project was essentially a book cover designed to represent our personal collections of essays. We were required to create at least one draft of our cover before starting the final product. This project was completed using gouache paint.
PROCESS
Originally, I started with watercolor pencils and I tried to create a blended rainbow effect on my paper using blues, purples and greens, but it did not blend well and I felt it was too dark. For my final product I scattered the colors, which created a more pastel effect when I blended them. I then positioned 15 small white squares geometrically across the page.
FINAL PRODUCT
I really liked the pastel background and the minimalist white squares across the page. It looked exactly how I envisioned it in my mind, and I am very proud of it. I also included my signature instead of my printed name and I was pleased with how that turned out, too.
